Sounds like a lot to me, too! My internet sleuthing says they want at least 8-10. I’ve seen where it’s not uncommon to have 20+. The big questions right now are how many eggs are mature, how many fertilize (I’ve read that around 70% of the mature eggs will), and how many pass the genetic screening.
Sixteen!?! Is that a lot? It sounds like a lot! Yay!
